One Nation, Under God

She's At Home...In the Garden

"To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow."

She is a walking testimony of faith and grace. Madelyn Anderson has been a member of the Dirt Daubers for 59 years. She is a natural when it comes to flower arranging and gardening. Madelyn was recently the guest at the Club's meeting, which was also a thank you to her for her years and contributions to the Garden Club.

Madelyn has judged at flower shows and competitions across Montana and Wyoming. She is a Master Judge, having attended trainings, classes and symposiums. Her love is the floral arrangements, however she does do horticulture works as well.

In 1963, with the encouragement of Bertha Cebulski, who was the owner of the local flower shop, she began to fulfill a talent, an aptness, a gift she had with some of the most beautiful creations in nature. She began her career in judging in 1967, and hasn't let the grass grow under her feet since...so to speak.

Her expertise, competence and aptitude are to be admired. She found her forte and has gently nurtured her green thumb that has pleased many in her life, as well as fulfilled a sense of accomplishment.

As this goes to print, Madelyn will be settling into her new residence in Bozeman. Leaving the community, gardens and friends she has known all her life will be an adjustment. She is bound to bloom where she is planted, having 97 years of experience will be a plus. We appreciate you, Madelyn, for all your contributions and touches over the years.
