Saco School Presents: Sleeping Beauty and the Beast

As part of their English classes, the Saco Middle School and High School students kicked off the school year with the play Sleeping Beauty and the Beast by Wade Bradford. A mashup of several different fairy tales with familiar and lovable characters, the play was well received, and students embraced their individual roles with gusto. The high school art class also embraced the role as set designers and created a memorable backdrop and props.

Students took the stage on September 12th for a dress rehearsal for the elementary students followed by a performance for the community. The play was a smashing success, and students were met with applause, laughter, and accolades. Playing the lead role of Prince Charmless, Nathan Salveson, a junior, reflects, "It was a great experience. Everybody worked hard to prepare for it, and we all had fun performing it. Everybody that came to watch seemed to really enjoy themselves, and that was obviously our main goal from the beginning, so I think it was a great success."

Saco Schools appreciates the Montana Masonic Foundation for their generous grant, which was used to purchase the play and costumes.
