One Nation, Under God

Facing Shortages, Will an Ambulance Come?

The loss of a family member, friend, or loved one is one of the toughest things we ever have to face.

Not only is the loss heartbreaking at the time...some people never recover from it. What if you could help save a small child from a near drowning, or had the skills and knowledge to stop blood from a bad cut...or how to give life sustaining breaths of air to a choking victim? What if you had those skills...and didn't use them?

What if it was YOU that needed CPR in a crowded room and no one would come forward? Or, if your infant child or busy grandchild needed the breath of life and people stood by, what would you do or think?

Those fears could be eased by you and your friends and family knowing CPR and first aid; these are the beginning steps to becoming an EMT. Right NOW is the perfect time to join the hands across the county that use their hands, skills and knowledge to help save lives.

The Phillips County Ambulance is in dire need of EMT's and the service may not be able to continue to offer service if there aren't enough trained EMT's available. An EMT is required to be on the ambulance run...if there aren't any due to being understaffed...the one in need may not get an ambulance. FULLY TRAINED and LICENSED EMT's are needed; there are volunteers for driving. Without an EMT, an ambulance cannot make a run.

With the immense need, is the scramble to train individuals...and here is your invitation to be part of the solution. The sustainability of the service is in question, and your support and input is needed.

Come to the meeting on Thursday, Nov. 3rd at the Event Center (old armory) at 7 p.m. and see if there is some way you can help. The life of your loved one may depend on you or your neighbor.
