Garden Club Hosts State Meeting

The Malta Dirt Daubers recently hosted the annual meeting of the Montana Federation of Garden Clubs. Eighty-seven gardeners and flower show judges gathered from all corners of Montana. Special guest was Brenda Moore, National Garden Clubs President, who resides in West Virginia.

Highlights of the weekend were a trip to Bowdoin National Wildlife Refuge to visit the new Native Prairie Pollinator Garden; and the dedication of the new Gold Star Marker. The Marker is available only to garden clubs and is in honor of Gold Star Families who have suffered the loss of a loved one while serving in the military.

The Tin Cup and the Great Northern Hotel did a masterful job of accommodating the participants for meetings and meals. Malta always rolls out the welcome mat for visitors, and there were many complimentary remarks made by MFGC members.
