Diana Gail Simanton, 71, passed away at her home in Whitewater MT on September 23, 2024.
Born on November 18, 1952, in Hot Springs, SD, to Connie Lee and Betty (Young) Allen, where she grew up. In 1969, she moved to Malta and graduated from Malta High School in 1971.
Diana married Don W. Simanton on June 8, 1971. From this union, they had two sons William and Ian. They lived in Malta and later in Dodson and Harlem while she worked for a rest home and as a substitute teacher. In 1998, they moved to Wyoming to try to save the farm and Diana worked at security until soon being hired full-time as a maintenance clerk at Thunder Basin Coal Company. She retired in the spring of 2020.
Diana attended church and was a member of Eastern Star and the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America. She gave of her time and service to Shriners Children's Hospital fundraisers.
Diana is survived by her husband Don, sisters Nancy McIntosh and Bonnie (Sam) Alba, brother Don (Marti) Allen, sons William (Dot) and Ian, grandchildren Verik, Wyatt, Amber, Megan, Jim and Autumn, nephews Pete (Sally), Chuck (Denise), Scott, nieces Marsha (David), Cassie (Trevor), David, Kyle, William, Brandy, Sean, Josh, Nikki, and numerous great-grandchildren, grand nieces and nephews and "adopted grandchildren".
A funeral service will be held on September 28, 2024, at 3:00 pm at the Whitewater Lutheran Church with burial in the Forks Cemetery in Whitewater, MT. Memorial donations can go to any cancer research or children's hospital funds. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Wilderness Funeral Homes- Malta.
