Ethel A. (Cummings) Hoover

( July 28, 1937 – November 6, 2024)

Ethel A. (Cummings) Hoover passed away November 6, 2024 at the Chinook Sweet Home Nursing Home. Ethel was born in Phillips County on July 28, 1937 and stayed in the community until 1976 when she moved to Ronan, MT. She worked as a head cook for Ronan School District until she retired. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, playing cards, live music and dancing. Ethel returned to Eastern Montana in 2021 where she enjoyed visits from her extensive family and friends of all ages.

Ethel is survived by daughters Jackie (Steve) Schwartz, Jennifer (Dick) Mavencamp, Joanne (Dave) Murphy, sons Jeff Hoover, Todd Hoover, Chad (Bev) Hoover, stepsons Bruce and Rick Hoover, siblings; George (Myrna) Cummings, Tom (Margie) Cummings, Glen (Jackie) Cummings, Bruce Cummings, Clark (Gail) Cummings, Loretta Haynes and Janice Mitchell; several grandchildren; Kale, Colton, Dustin, Darcie, Jessica, Tara, Cloy, Brittny and Tamara; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husband Glen, parents Newt and Lucille (Myra) Cummings, brother Richard and brother-in-law Craig Mitchell.

Celebration of life will be December 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the VFW in Malta, MT. Jam session to follow.

Cremation has taken place at the Wilderness Funeral Home.
