    Once again, Alpha Zeta sponsored its 29th annual creative writing contest to the students in Phillips County and Hinsdale. The topic of which students wrote was Do Manners Matter. First, second, third and honorable mention places were awarded in these categories: Kindergarten, First and Second, Third and Fourth, Fifth and Sixth, Seventh and Eighth, and High School.     Emerson Downing of Saco was the Grand Prize winner in Alpha Zeta's 27th annual creative writing contest. Emerson along with 47 other winners were recognized at an awards assembly in Hinsdale on March 29th. The topic on which all students wrote was Celebrate Kindness.     On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther hammered 95 statements on the door of the Wittenberg Church. This Middle Ages monk saw a need for change in the church, and with the help of technology, he was able to spark discussion on reforming the church. As with any change, it was met with resistance from the established church, but was embraced by many people of Martin Luther’s day.
