Book Discussion Group

The Book Discussion Group has chosen “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee for the September book. Copies are available at the library for anyone who wants to participate.

Scholastic Book Fair

8-26-27. The Annual Fall Scholastic Book Fair will be held at Malta Elementary School on Tuesday, August 26 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. during the MES Open House and again on Wednesday, August 27 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. The Book Fair is sponsored by Partners in Education (PIE.) Everyone is welcome to visit the Book Fair and look over a great selection of Books.

Community Church Quest Program

8-27. Community Church Quest Program (for grades k-through-5) begins Wednesday, August 27 and we’re excited! A preschool program, age 3-5, will be starting. Malta City Office

9-1.The Malta City Office, shop and landfill will be closed Monday, September 1 in observance of Labor Day. Garbage pick-up will be delayed.

Phillips County Library

9-1. The Phillips County Library will be CLOSED on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 for the Labor Day Holiday.

Kiwanis

Red Cross Blood Drive

9-4. The American Red Cross will be holding a community blood drive on Thursday, September 4 from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. To schedule your appointment place call 1-800-695-7258.

PhillCo Membership Meeting

9-4. The PhillCo Membership Meeting will be on Thursday, September 4 at noon at Stretch’s Pizza.

Second Saturday

9-13. The Malta Chamber will hold 2nd Saturday Event on Saturday, September 13 at Promises.

Scandia Lutheran Church

9-14.The annual worship service at Scandia Lutheran Church will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., followed by a potluck. Please bring an item for the potluck as well as your own drinks, plates, utensils and chairs. In the event of inclement weather, the worship service will be moved to September 21, 2014.
