One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News for the Week of July 15, 2015

Congratulations to Taylor and Adam Hellie in the birth of a new baby boy.

Sympathy to Gale (my daughter) on the loss of her pet dog that she had for almost 20 years. Sad.

There was Vacation BibleSchool here in Whitewater this week and 40 to 45 children attended! Helpers from clear down in South Carolina and George assisted. Lunch was served each day and the bus transported the children from farms to town. There was also tent revivals each night with preaching and music.

Since I enjoy watching movies, I saw Spy recently and I was disgusted and really disappointed because every other word was filth and cussing. Whatever happened to the good movies I grew up with? Maybe it isn’t the fault of theatre managers, the real fault belongs to Hollywood. Guess I won’t go unless I know it is a decent movie.

We had a nice rain, which cleared the air of the smoke which blew down from Canada. I hope the fires are out.

The North 40 Café serves senior meals on Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. It is hosted by the PC Council for Aging and our price is $4. The meal was excellent, with fish and strawberry shortcake.

Congratulations to Paul Siewing on his retirement from working for Burlington Northern Railroad after some 30 years.

July 4 I visited the Siewings and we had lunch and watched fireworks.

Many spent July at the lake, some went fishing including the Seiwings who caught a big fish in the Milk River.

The old stockyards have been torn down and a new wood fence was built. There’s a man who takes the old wood and sells it to artists and decorates up west at a profit. It is incredible how people can make money. The businessman is living in a trailer here in Whitewater. Welcome to him (I didn’t catch his name.)

Bruce Hill supervised and built a teepee camp at the Little Rockies Christian Camp. Some of the family attended and visited Lyn and Bruce Hill in Whitewater.

Have a good week.
