Sharon Kay (Sandvick) Wombold

Sharon Kay (Sandvick) Wombold was born on April 8, 1943 in Malta. She was the youngest of five children of Martin and Hazel Sandvick.

She grew up on a ranch near Fourchette Creek in Regina, Montana. She attended schools at Fourchette and Second Creek School, being the only student at the school in the 8th grade.

She attended Malta High School and graduated in 1961.

After graduation, she attended Kinman Business University in Spokane, Washington.

Upon returning to Malta, she was employed by Petrolane Glacier Gas Service for nine and a half years, was secretary and later administrator of Malta Activity Center/Group Home.

She received her real estate sales agent license in 1984 and also worked as office manager of the Phillips County News.

She got her real estate broker's license and had worked at the Missouri River Realty until 2015.

Sharon married Donald Wombold on September 29, 1962. Ronald was born in 1963 and Randy in 1964.

She was active in Malta Jayceens and also Business & Professional Woman's Club. Sharon was a lifetime member of the Malta Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband; Donald, sons; Ronald and Sharon Wombold of Great Falls, Randy and Dawn Wombold of Rapid City, SD, grandson; Brandon Wombold of Great Falls, granddaughters; Whitney and Jon Severson of Aurelia, IA, Kathleen and Aaron Tennyson of Vermillion, SD, Reagan Wombold of Rapid City, SD, step-granddaughter Alissa Fendrick of GA, great grandchildren; Norah and Winston Severson, sister; Betty Chrestman of Idaho Falls, ID and brother; Harold Sandvick of Malta.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Hazel Sandvick in 2000, Martin Sandvick in 2002, daughter-in-law Jeanne Wombold in 2003, and sisters; Sandra Kolczak in 2004 and Violet Able in 2013, also her grandparents; Herman and Alvilda Krumwiede.

Sharon loved people and enjoyed her work as a real estate broker meeting new people all the time.

She especially enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Kirkwood Funeral Home on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 7 p.m.

Funeral will be at the Malta Lutheran Church on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. with WELCA luncheon to follow.
