Agnes Laurene (Hasler) Young

Agnes Laurene (Hasler) Young, age 94, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at the Phillips County Hospital of natural causes. A memorial service was held Thursday, July 14th, at 2 p.m. at the Kirkwood Funeral Home in Malta, Mont.

Agnes was born on February 24, 1922, in Whitetail, Mont., to John and Bernice (Wiltfong) Hasler. She grew up in Whitetail, Mont., and later the family moved to Malta where she met and later married James L. Young on August 28, 1940.

Jim and Agnes ranched south of Malta all of their married life where they raised their eight children. Agnes loved reading her Bible and attending church at the Malta Assembly of God. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, canning, and life on the ranch. She made the best pies and angel food cakes, all from scratch. Agnes always welcomed company, family and friends into her home and loved having all the "little ones" around her.

Agnes is survived by her Sons: Gary (Donna); Bob (Mary Lou); Roland (Twila); and Todd (Sonia), all of Malta; Daughters: Loretta (Tom) Anderson of Malta; Wanda (Danny) Snow of Kentucky; and Twilla (Sid) Hughes of Missouri; Son-In-Law, Clyde (Anna Jane) Knudsen. A blessing of 36 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; Brothers, Thomas (Connie) Hasler of Fort Benton and Floyd (Ann) Hasler of Lewistown; Sister, Ada Young of Ohio; Sisters-In-Law, Laura (Bud) Hasler and Lucille (John) Hasler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, John and Bernice; Husband, Jim; Daughter, Anna Jane (Clyde) Knudsen; Brothers, Bud (Laura) Hasler and John (Lucille) Hasler; Sisters, Violet Hasler and Juanita (Bud) Young; and Grandson, David Knudsen.
