Edith Rose (Parenteau) Palmer

Edith Rose (Parenteau) Palmer, age 77, of Yankton, South Dakota and formerly of Malta, Mont., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton.

A private family service and viewing will be held for Edith at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton.

Edith was born August 18, 1939, in Harlem, Montana, to Fred and Katherine (Simpson) Parenteau. She was a woman with many talents and trades. She worked many jobs throughout her life. After retiring, she was a homemaker. She had many hobbies. She enjoyed sewing and making many beautiful homemade crafts. Edith enjoyed tending to her flowers and loved gardening. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Everyone that had the pleasure of knowing Edith fell in love with her kind soul and gentle personality. She was one of a kind and everyone loved her dearly. The good Lord made her beautiful inside and out. She loved to laugh and make people laugh. She was always content even until the end.

Survivors include her husband, Darrold Palmer of Yankton; four sons, Cleo (Tami) Dolphay, Miles Dolphay, Bret Dolphay, and Darren (Jessica) Palmer, all of Yankton; two daughters, Kathy (Kenny) Ereaux of Malta, Mont., and Christine (Jason) Krumback of Yankton; six grandchildren: Christopher and Matthew VanWinkle, Mason Ereaux, CJ Dolphay, Nathan Krumback and Kerri (Calvin) Thompson; four great grandchildren: Kylie, Paxton, Alivia and Mya; and brother, Donald (Joyce) Parenteau of Libby, Mont.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Cleo Dolphay; daughter, Kimberly Ann Palmer; and a brother, Bernard Parenteau.
