One Nation, Under God

Response to "That Wasn't Vandalism"

Normally I would not respond to someone so uniformed on a subject, but I feel that I must so that people are not mislead by Mr. Plouffe. I am reminded of a statement by Stephen Hawking “The greatest enemy of Knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.” Mr. Plouffe along with many others have owned in part portions of the Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs. Many have tried in different ways to place band aids on different portions of the historic Sleeping Buffalo, including the hot water well. Mr. Plouffe wrote as though he had knowledge of the hot water well at the Sleeping Buffalo, and concluded his letter to the editor as “Not Vandalism”. Mr. Plouffe alluded to the fact that several people have tried to fix the well and stop the leak that flows constantly. What he didn’t know was that the vandalism that has occurred at the Sleeping Buffalo hot water well was done above ground to cause the leak to get dramatically worse. Someone, and we will find out who, did deliberately take a sledge hammer to a pressure valve and then shut off the main valve causing tremendous pressure to build up which has caused extensive damage. So, all I ask of Mr. Plouffe is before you give an illusion of Knowledge that you simply inform yourself of the real facts, so that you don’t look so unintelligent.

Sincerely Dennis Simpson, Sleeping Buffalo, Mont.
