Plane goes down in Bowdoin, all okay

On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 1411 hours, Phillips County Sheriff's Office dispatch received a report of an aircraft upside down on the Bowdoin Wildlife Refuge.

Sheriff's Office personnel, EMS personnel, and fire personnel were dispatched to the location of the crash. The pilot was ferrying the single engine aircraft to Alaska when the aircraft developed engine problems. The pilot attempted to land on the white ground at the refuge but when the aircraft started to slow and the weight of the aircraft was transferred to the wheels, the aircraft became bogged down and flipped over onto its top.

The pilot was uninjured and was able to exit the aircraft to report the crash.
