One Nation, Under God

Remembering 9/11: Vigil at 7 p.m. on Saturday

Where were you when the Twin Towers fell 20 years ago? What were you doing right then? What were your thoughts?

It was a tragic event in the lives of Americans where once it was thought our soil was sacred beyond the enemy’s reach. Little did we know right then that a third plane was zeroing in on our great Pentagon.

Almost 3000 lives were lost, thousands of others were affected by the loss of those lives. Terror filled our streets and skies making everyone unsettled.

Malta VFW Post 4067 invites the public to participate in their event of REMEMBERING 9/11 on Saturday, September 11, 2021. The group will gather at the VFW Club at 7:00 p.m. and walk to the Malta Veterans Park where luminaries will be given out to participants wishing to be part of the momentous event. If you are unable to walk the distance please feel free to drive to the park.

The candles, placed in brown paper bags, will be battery operated and burn throughout the evening.

A special invitation is extended to our first responders, fire department, law enforcement, and all medical personnel as they are absolutely essential in times of crisis and emergency.

For more information contact Mellissa Sandvick, chair, at 406-250-4658.

A second project headed by Ms. Sandvick is honoring the Fallen Thirteen who lost their lives in Afghanistan. A display is up at the VFW Club with a list of their names and an American flag displayed in a case.

It will be on display until 9/11.

Please take time to visit the club and have a moment of silence in memory of the fallen.
