On Saturday, October 16, representing the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation and Phillips County in the 2021 Billings Martial Arts Open Sparring Tournament, Dodson's Jacob "Knife Man" Shopteese, a 17-year-old, took first place in the fighting portion, first in the sword fight competition, and second in grappling. In the fighting portion, Shopteese, a white belt trained in Shotokan Karate and Taekwondo, defeated seven opponents, with the last two being black belts.
