One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, December 15, 2021

Sympathy to the victims of the fire near Lewistown. Homes were burnt, even the elevators. Terrible.

Greetings and Merry Christmas from the North Pole, alias Whitewater Mt. We got about 3 inches of snow and it is cold, below zero in the night. It’s really winter!

On Thanksgiving, many from the area traveled. Patti and Steve Young spent the day at Ellas (Patti’s daughter).

Recently Jeanie Green flew to Arizona to visit her granddaughter and sight-see, and keep warm!

Congratulations to the Penguins/Maverick Basketball teams and good luck for the future.

Again, upcoming events in Whitewater. There will be a Christmas program at the Whitewater Lutheran Church, Sunday, December 19, 2021. The program is during church at 11:15. All are welcome to attend.

Whitewater School program is Monday, December 20, 2021, at 7 p.m.

Merry Christmas! Enjoy the programs and remember Jesus is the reason for the season!

Here’s a recipe for Martha Austins (my mom), ginger cookies.

Ingredients:

1 cup of sugar, 2 eggs, ¾ cup of shortening, and 4 Tablespoons of Molasses. Mix together.

2 cups of flour, 2 tsp. of soda, 2 tsp of cinnamon, 1 to 2 tsp of ginger, ½ tsp salt, and ¾ tsp of cloves. Mix this together and add all ingredients together.

Roll dough in balls and press down with a fork. Sprinkle with sugar if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Enjoy!

KEEP WARM!

Helen A.
