One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, February 16, 2022

Cindy Clark and I actually spotted a gopher on Wednesday! Then I heard that Chuck Russell was lucky enough to pop one off on Saturday! Now is the best time to get them before they have their new litter.

Taylor Hellie's little Boston Terrier ran off on Monday and Taylor searched and searched for him. On Sunday she got a call that he had been found in the hay bales by Pete and Carol Lumsdens! Isn't that a happy ending?

Cecily Norville spent the week with Nana and Papa Lumsden. She was recovering from a nasty cold.

The snow around here is for all intents and purposes melted. We are waiting for the big storm to drop three feet of snow or a nice steady three day spring rain! a few ranchers have started calving, but slowly. Most of them around here have pushed the start back to March. I think it's a good idea!

Cindy Clark and I traveled over to Whitewater to Senior meals on Wednesday and then took in the spelling bee at the Whitewater School. Brought back many memories for me!

I certainly have enjoyed the Olympics on TV. Just wish those commercials were cut out. I know that's how it gets paid for but they are irritating.

Some of the smaller song birds are starting to make their spring twitters in the trees. I'm pretty sure these have wintered over, no new ones migrating in yet.

I'm sure most of my readers have watched the Super Bowl! I did not but I'm curious as to which commercial was your favorite. I've heard who won, Rams, and much about the half time show, both good and bad, but not much abut the ads!

Glad to hear that John Flansaas is doing better! He'll be ready for the garden when spring comes!

Cindy Clark, Carol Lumsden and I went to the basketball game in Whitewater. The little people played at half time so we enjoyed watching them work on their skills! The Lady Mavericks beat the Coyotes and everyone got to play. The Mavericks pulled on top for most of the second half and they ended winning in a barn burner. So fun to hear the band and watch high school ball again!

Good luck to everyone at the District tourneys! Play your best! Until next week, be kind!
