Benefit held for Barb Bushman

On Saturday, June 18, 2022, a benefit was held at the Lucky Bullet on behalf of Barb Bushman. Barb was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in March of this year.

Triple negative breast cancer is a fast-growing cancer. So far, she has had chemotherapy twice and a treatment of Keytruda (an immune infusion, to help her body fight off infection/sickness). After 4 treatments she will begin chemo every week and an infusion of Keytruda every 3 weeks. Once she receives her 4th round of chemo, then her doctors and her husband will decide if breast removal, or lumpectomy with breast reconstruction will be an option. The cost of her anti-nausea patch can cost up to $14,000. Her chemo treatments are costly, a sum that unless you have gone through cancer a person can't fathom. So far, her only issue has been some nausea and her hair turning purple!!

The outpouring of support the family has received is amazing. One cannot realize how generous people can be until they experience something as this. Our family has been overwhelmed.

The family is appreciative to Rhonda Dalby, Betsy Isakson, and Ruby Bushman for hosting the benefit. They have done all the leg work for the benefit.

We had a motorhome that was remodeled, four tickets to a Broncos game, with box seats, and with all the food and beverage you can eat and drink., and a wooden bench. Baskets and gifts donated from Great Falls, as far as Arizona, and from the great people of Malta.

(From Rhonda Dalby)- Head organizer!

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon June 18th, many gathered to make a difference in a lady's life.

Rhonda, Dawn, Ruby, and Betsy, with the help from (Donnie, Ritchie, Adam, and Lane) for the heavy lifting. They made sure everything was set up for the benefit.

With over 100 auction items, ranging from a Winnebago to wine. Bronco tickets to bread. The baskets all done up so big and beautiful.

The turnout of bidders wasn't short by any means. Many people came in and out all day to check on their bids, as the bidding closed at 6 p.m.

We had t-shirts for sale with the last one being auctioned off by Shane Carnahan (who knew he could do that)!

In the back of the Lucky Bullet, Caitlin and Megan hosted beer Olympics, and the Lucky Bullet had a taco bar, with all proceeds going to Barb.

By the end of the night everything was sold... And Barbs fight was made a little easier with the help of this generous community and her family.

If you missed out on all the fun, an account has been set up at the Bank of Malta, "Friends of Barb."
