One Nation, Under God

Ideas, Thoughts, and Input

As you as readers are aware, the strength of a weekly publication is in the readers as well as ads sold. Many people have mentioned and/or approached me stating things they would like to see in the newspaper and there is validity to their thoughts. The public stated they would like to see new ideas incorporated within the folds of the PCN, and I would like to share some of them and seek the readers’ feedback.

“When you can be anything in the world, be kind.”

What about a place where those who “pay it forward” or do “random acts of kindness” for others with expectation of recognition or paybacks? Send in or drop an email to [email protected] to share complimentary things about others who are doing for others. You can provide your name if you wish, however it is not necessarily needed to thank or recognize someone. It is not even necessary to state the name of the individual doing the kindness, merely mention the action. For example: Thank you to the gentleman who stopped and fixed my tire when it blew out on Hwy 2 and I had no jack. The readers know there was an act of kindness, some don’t want their names shared.

Some do a lot for this community and within the boundaries of the county and are due a tip o’ the hat in thanks. It’s those helping hands that can use a “kudo” or pat on the back.

The message is quite clear, people have been asking if the “Street Talk” will be returning. If all goes well and individuals are cooperative, the PCN is contemplating the section making a comeback. Space and availability will determine whether it will return…and the approval of the owners of the PCN, whom we answer to.

Thanks for your suggestions, ideas and enthusiasm that have been shared. The staff at PCN want the weekly word in print to be something you look forward to. It’s a community effort and as stated before, the paper is what everyone makes it. Step forth and lend a hand to help make it stronger!

Let me know…what’s happening…on the streets.
