Cheryl was born on March 3, 1959, to Howard and Agnes (Koss) Barnard, in Malta, MT. She was a 1977 graduate of Malta High School. Cheryl was united in marriage to Dennis Lingohr on December 16, 1979. The couple lived and started their family in Malta. After 12 years, Cheryl made the difficult decision to leave Malta for more life opportunities. She and her children moved to Billings, MT, where Cheryl began her career as an administrative assistant for various companies. She moved to Lake Norden in 2012 to be closer to her grandchildren, where she worked at nursing homes in the area.

She enjoyed music, sewing and gardening, but above all she loved family. She was very passionate about family history and enjoyed planning reunions and get-togethers. She strongly "encouraged" family to get out and talk to get to know one another. Some of her most cherished moments were the times she spent with her grandchildren. If she had a second love beyond her grandchildren, it was spending time on the family ranch she grew up on. She loved spending time there with her family tagging along for the daily ranch activities. She always spoke fondly of the times she got to ride shotgun trucking with her nephew. If there was any living soul that could capture her heart as much as her family, it was her cat, Barney. Barney recognized her gentle spirit because she was the only person that he'd warm up to.

Cheryl is survived by her children, Lacey (Jared) Namken of Lake Norden, SD and Schaun (Britni) Lingohr of Billings, MT; five grandchildren: (Paisley, Cooper, Presley, Sophia and Corbin); and her brothers, Charles (Kathy) Barnard of West Springfield, VA, John (Jeanne) Barnard of Malta, MT, and Norman (Greta) Barnard of Escondido, CA ,; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She wass preceded in death by her father and mother, Howard and Agnes Barnard; son Aaron Lingohr (passed in infancy); brother, Joseph Wilson; sister, Mary Kihlstrom; brother-in-law, Gary Kihlstrom and several nieces and nephews.
