One Nation, Under God

Can We Get Some Compassion for our Seniors

Dear Editor,

The Hi Line Retirement Center is being closed. The CEO of the Hospital and Clinic says there’s no funding, however, he found money to hire 5 new PA’s and started renovating the clinic. It seems like smaller renovations and 2 or 3 PA’s would have been sufficient and the rest of the money given to the Nursing Home. Instead of closing the Nursing Home and getting rid of our Seniors, let’s get rid of the CEO from South Dakota and get a Malta person with a HEART and COMPASSION. The Nursing Home has been open for years. It is home to many elderly and employs a lot of Phillips County people. Instead of kicking our elderly out of their homes and out of town, let’s get rid of the CEO—HE needs to GO AWAY…Not our Seniors!!
