One Nation, Under God

Malta Dirt Daubers Honored For Their Efforts

Monday, October 3rd, the Malta Dirt Daubers Garden Club had a special guest, Millie Kindle, a member of the Milk River Chapter Daughters of American Revolution (DAR). As Historian for the Chapter, she had submitted the Club for recognition for their community service projects. Millie has also served as Present Regent since 2017.

Millie presented Toni Ziegler, MDDGC President, with a pin and certificate as the state winner of the award. The mission of the Club is to beautify the community, stimulate the love of gardening and flowers, aid in the knowledge and promotion of trees, plants, butterflies, and birds, as well as to aid in the protection of the environment.

In the narrative that Millie submitted, she shared the projects the members have accomplished including planting flowers at the entrance of Trafton Park, by the WELCOME to our town; the flower barrels around town, and the beautifully graced Robinson house and gardens. A scholarship is presented each year to a graduating senior, hands out bouquets to teachers each fall, and they work with the Kids Club to prepare gifts for their parents at Christmas, as well as make entries for the county fair. The club provides centerpieces for the Festival of Trees-they promote the Smokey Owl Poster contest and other such projects within the community. Their work and skills are showcased in the antique truck on the corner of Central Avenue and South 2 St. East.

September 17th of this year, the Club celebrated its 63rd anniversary. Of those 63 years, Madelyn Anderson, who recently moved to Bozeman, had been a member for 59 years.

The Malta Dirt Daubers are 28 strong in members and worthy of the recognition and award bestowed upon them.

Thank you God for sun and showers.

Thank you for each lovely flower.

Thank you for each stately tree.

Through all these, You speak to me. Amen.
