One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, February 8, 2023

It is February 2023, time sure flies!

“Get Well Wishes to Dallas Green and Jeanie Green. However, Jeanie can’t stay sick long, as she is lambing. They are so cute. I used to raise bum lambs on a bottle, what fun!

Here in Whitewater, we have so much snow, if it melts we may have a flood. We will wait and see.

The chief topic in Whitewater is basketball. Our Whitewater Penguins/Mavericks are still rated #1 in the State, in Class C basketball. Good Luck to all teams.

Cindy Clark, Pastor of Loring Lutheran Church preached at the Whitewater Lutheran Church on Sunday. Dixie Stordahl accompanied her. Other guests were Tatum (Olson) Moore and her baby Katanna. She is so adorable.

A few weeks ago, our electric power went on and off all day. This was due to frost on the lines. The electricity works fine now.

When I grew up in Whitewater, we did not have electricity. We used Aladdin lamps. It was hard to read at night. Before we got electricity, we had a machine generator operated by Mavencamps. Lights out by 11 p.m.

Does anyone know when Big Flat Electric began?

Happy Birthday to all February B-Days, and also Happy Anniversary to all who are celebrating.

Today the sun is shining. It’s nice as we have so much fog and frost.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Helen A.
