ALA Offers Various Scholarships for 2023

ALA, AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY: the Auxiliary supports various scholarship programs that benefit veterans, the descendants of veterans, and the American Legion Family. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship check out the following programs detailed below. Deadline is March 31.

First scholarship offered is: Children’s National President Scholarship for three $5000 scholarships awarded annually per geographical division, for a total of fifteen. These scholarships are for undergraduate study only at a four year accredited college or university and maybe used for books, tuition, fees, room and board.

Non-traditional Student Scholarship is one $2000 scholarship and is awarded annually per geographical division. Applicant may be pursuing training in a certified trade, professional, or technical program, or a two or four year degree program.

Up next is the Spirit of Youth Scholarship. Spirit of Youth Scholarship Fund is an umbrella that supports three separate scholarship opportunities for participants in the ALA programs. One is for American Legion Auxiliary Junior members, another for the Honorary Division Vice-Presidents, and one is for participants in the ALA Girls Nation program.

Last, but just as important is the Junior Member Loyalty Scholarship. ALA Junior members are the future of our organization. To reward those who retain their membership into adulthood, the ALA offers the Junior Member Loyalty scholarship to current college students. Two scholarships will be awarded to current college students. Two will be awarded on each division of the American Legion Auxiliary. The scholarship is a GRANT not a LOAN.

Keep in mind, all scholarships offered hinge on American Legion Auxiliary current or former membership, family membership, active and former military duty. If you desire more information, call 406-654-4283.
