Whitewater News & Opinion for March 1, 2023

Sympathy to the victims in Turkey.

It is March! Happy Birthday to all those celebrating birthdays including Seth and Jonathan Siewing. Also, congratulations to all those celebrating anniversaries.

To Sue Olson, glad you are feeling better. Also get well wishes to Marjorie Olson. Both Sue and Marjorie farm and ranch near Whitewater.

Final congratulations to the boys and girls Whitewater Penguins/Mavericks who played basketball in the Divisional Tournament held in Glasgow. The girls took first place!! I listened to many of the games on KMMR radio. Some games were close and exciting. A few games, like between Dodson and Lustre went into overtime. FUN!

Bad News. Many in Billings have a flu epidemic. This included Janet Brown (my sis). Glad you are feeling better Janet!

“Hello” to my children, nieces, and nephews. Hope all are well.

It has been a long winter, good news though, Pat Dunbar said the geese are back on the lake. They are just sitting on the ice, (they must wonder, what happened to the water)! I haven’t seen geese here yet.

We Montanans have hard winters. We thought spring was coming, but we have had snow and blizzard conditions with cold winds. But the calendar says we are getting closer to spring.

So have a cup of hot tea, or hot cocoa to help wait for spring.

Reminder: Whitewater Lutheran Church has Lenten Eve Service beginning March 1st and every Wednesday. Soup supper is at 5:30 p.m. and church will start at 6 p.m. All are invited!

Helen A.
