One Nation, Under God

Into the 90's and Strong

Al Kroll, local Veteran, neighbor, friend, uncle and grandpa, celebrated Sunday in style. He turned 92 with family, friends and a warm and friendly group at the monthly jam session at the VFW. With restriction for open flames, and being a Sunday, and not wanting to interfere with the volunteer fire department's day off, no candles were lit. However, the smile of Al's face put a glow in the room.

Al and his wife, Ruby, have two children, two grandchildren and two great-grandkids. His wife, and son, Kim, are deceased. His son, Doug, lives in VA.

After the luncheon prepared by Erna Schlieve, a cake in his honor was served.

The jam session was well attended, with musicians strong in number providing the best country western music on the hi-line. Sheldon Neumiller from Roundup and Lynn Heggen from Havre joined locals: Roy Neumiller, Gordy Faaborg, Jay Southwick, Bill Abrahamson, Warren Taylor, Warren Abrahamson, Jr., Riley Abrahamson, Vince Mace, Kari Hould, and Adrian Tremblay, Sr.

Joining the group for the first time, Dr. Edwin Medina brought both a new sound and selections for the crowd. He plans to return next month.

Al enjoyed the celebration and if a message could be shared from this day it is ~ make the best of everyday and be sure to reach out and keep in touch with our elderly. Appreciate the wisdom they bring to our lives, and appreciate their life-long accomplishments.
