MHS names Top Two of 2023

The Malta High School has announced that Jared Eggebrecht has been named the valedictorian and Lauren Tuss as salutatorian for the class of 2023.

Jared Ross Eggebrecht is the son of Brian and Vicki Eggebrecht. He has attended Malta High School all four years.

During those years, he played basketball for four years, and football for two years. He was in band for four years and Key Club for four years. Jared was also part of the St. Mary's youth group.

His interests include playing and watching sports and hanging out with his friends.

After graduation, his plan is to attend Montana State University to earn a degree in business.

Lauren Kathleen Tuss is the daughter of Janine and Spike Tuss. Lauren has attended Malta High School all four years.

Her activities and accomplishments included participating in volleyball for four years, basketball for three years, track and field for three years, band/pep band for three years, and choir for one year. Lauren was also in FCCLA for two years, student council for four years, 4H for eight years, and part of St. Mary's youth group for six years. She was also on the Honor Roll for four years and Academic All-State for four years.

Her favorite memories of school were school trips, when she was in volleyball, basketball, track, FCCLA, Pep-Band, or Musical Festival. "We always managed," Tuss said. "We make the most of our opportunities."

After graduation, she plans to go to college and study Biology and Pre-Med. After obtaining these degrees, Lauren will attend medical school and specialize in Pediatrics.
