William (Bill) Edward Baker (June 15, 1946 - May 1, 2023)

William Edward Baker (Bill), 76 passed away peacefully on May 1, 2023, of natural causes at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre, MT with his family by his side.

Bill was born June 15, 1946, in Havre, MT to Ed and Arline (Klingler) Baker. Bill was raised on the family farm near Savoy where he learned the value of hard work. He attended school at Savoy and graduated from Harlem High School in 1964. On July 8th, 1970, Bill married the love of his life Catherine Weeres. They had two boys, Michael born in 1972 and Scott born in 1976.

A guitar given to him by grandfather A.P. Klingler helped foster his natural musical talent. He was part of a band playing at dances and proms all across the hi-line.

Along with being a lifelong farmer, he worked in the early 70s at the Harlem police department and served as their Chief. His independent and entrepreneurial spirit sparked several business ventures, including KB's Deli that Bill and Kathy ran together until their retirement in 2016. Bill enjoyed family get-togethers, pinochle, fishing, and watching his kids and grandchildren take part in sports.

Bill will be remembered as a kindhearted, gifted musician, loyal friend, and ultimate family man. His Grandchildren were his greatest Joy.

William was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother, James.

He is survived by His Wife of 53 years, Kathy. Sons; Michael Baker of Savoy and Scott Baker of Savoy. Siblings; Robert Baker, Billings, Brian Baker (Mary), Betty Zellmer (Darwin), Marcia Mohar (Richard), Mary Kraft (Tom). Sisters-in-Law; Theresa Baker, Nancy Wilms (Ken), Brother-in-Law; Patrick Weeres (Kathy) Grandchildren; Shayna, Katie, Kelci, Aspen, Riley, and Great-Grandchildren; Oliver, Lily, and Willow along with numerous nieces and nephews.
