One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, May 10, 2023

Springtime means the return of the songbirds, branding, sorting cows, mowing the yard, and activities like music festival, track meets, recitals, etc.

Everett Blunt was in his first recital on Sunday. He was able to play in Nancy Murdock’s group of students even though he takes lessons from Carol Lumsden. I’m sure he performed well!

Paige Wasson and Kennedy Simonson were the kids from Loring to compete in the State Music Festival with the Whitewater group. They earned superior ratings and just shows how talented they are!

The Great Plains Dinosaur Museum is open again for the season! That means I’m in town more often until someone else steps up to take my place! Hopefully, it’ll be down to just a day a week.

My aunt Thelma Jean Bjorklund passed away last Sunday in Cut Bank. She was the last sister of my mother. She grew up in Phillips County, in Loring, and then graduated from Malta. Just reminds us to take advantage of the time available to us.

We’ve had two days of gentle rain in the Loring area. Even though we had a lot of snow this winter, the rain was welcome to dust off the grass and green up the prairie! The cottonwood, golden willow, and aspen trees are blooming, making me smile. The Caragana, and Russian olive will bloom later.

Keep your eyes open to see beautiful prairie flowers! You will be surprised at their beauty!

Have a beautiful week! Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers!
