Bishop Signs to Golf at Dickinson State University

On Wednesday, May 10, Malta senior Kaden Bishop signed a letter of intent to continue his golf career at Dickinson State University, becoming the first Mustang golfer to do so since Gordon Webb in 2008.

Bishop, the son of CJ and Karey Bishop, recently placed ninth at the State B Men's Golf Meet in Shelby.

During the signing event, in which nearly every Malta senior was present, Bishop was asked why Dickinson State University?

"I was looking at their golf scores and realized that I could fit in there," Bishop said. "Eli Hanson is going there, another kid from Malta, so it makes it easier when you have friends going there."

He took a visit to the school and during that visit he was impressed with their golf facility.

"It was brand new a year ago and that really persuaded me to go there even more," Bishop said.

He then sent in scores of his golf scores and reached out to the team's head coach Thad O'Donnell.

"He is a nice guy and he has been around there a long time," Bishop said. "He wrestled with Pat Sargent his freshman year of college."

Bishop will study Business Finance.
