Fundraiser for Hellie Family

The Hellie family of Whitewater has been going through a situation in which they could use help from those willing and able to help financially.

Courtney Hellie, loving wife of Jason Hellie, and mother of six boys, has been battling stage four breast cancer.

The following gofundme release was sent to the Phillips County News via Tayler Hellie, sister-in-law of Courtney, in hopes that it will help them with the financial battle they need to complete prior to treatment. Donations are also being accepted at First State Bank of Malta.

Tayler's Letter:

Hello, my name is Tayler Hellie and I am asking for your help raising funds to send my sister-in-law to Sanoviv Treatment Institute in Mexico.

She is currently battling with stage 4 breast cancer and it was recommended by her integrative oncologist as her best chance to add years and quality to her life.

Unfortunately, with the treatment center being out of the country the money has to be raised ahead of time before they will admit you. Courtney and Jason would be traveling together for a month of intensive treatment. Treatment would include immunotherapy and radiation.

We are hoping to help with the financial burdens associated with treatment and allow Courtney to just focus on getting better.

Courtney is 42 years old, and a mother to six boys (ages 3-18). Jason and Courtney run an organic wheat farm in Whitewater, MT. Courtney is a busy homeschooling mom that grows a large garden, and raises ducks, and chickens. She has a very strong faith and is very optimistic about her future. She is a very important person to our family and we want to see her feeling better as soon as possible. Courtney has always been first in line to lend a helping hand anytime anyone needed it, and we will do anything we can to help her. She is instilling this value in her boys and they very much want to see their mom feeling better.

Courtney was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 and was able to completely manage it with a strict diet and supplements recommended by a homeopathic doctor.

During the first two years, the tumor remained inactive and Courtney was able to live her normal life. About six months ago she fell ill with RSV and just wasn't able to kick it. While she fought the infection the tumor grew. It is now pushing on her lungs and causing them to fill with fluid. It is hard for her to breathe or walk more than a short distance.

At this time, surgery isn't an option due to the dangers of putting her under when battling with respiratory issues and high risk of infection. The hope is that with radiation, Chemo medication, and all the other treatment options Sanoviv is able to offer, the tumor will shrink and the respiratory issues will resolve so she can have the tumor removed. In the meantime, while we try to raise the funds to send her to the treatment facility she has started radiation in Havre, MT.

Jason has started taking as many trucking jobs as he can to raise the funds as well, but we know he is very much needed at home right now to help with Courtney and the boys. We are asking for prayers for healing and strength during this time. We are humbling ourselves at this time to ask for help. Any and all help is seriously appreciated.

There is a medical fund set up for Courtney Hellie at First State Bank and an active gofundme as well. We would also like to say we appreciate everyone that has sent meals and donations. The family is amazed by the generosity and kindness of this wonderful community.
