GPDM Tabs Boekenheide as Director of Paleontology; Reception on July 8

The Great Plains Dinosaur Museum (GPDM) in Malta, Montana is very pleased to welcome Harris Boekenheide as their new Director of Paleontology. Harris is a recent Montana State University graduate with a Master's Degree in vertebrate paleontology and relocated to Malta from Bozeman in early June.

GPDM is very excited to have Harris on board and taking the lead on museum programs. He comes to us with significant experience in vertebrate paleontology and is excited to engage with the community and especially with landowners in this dino-rich region.

Harris is settling into life in Malta and says "After consulting our museum operations manager, Dixie Stordahl, I am happy to announce that of our first dig program this summer will take place July 10th – 14th. Dates for the August and September dig weeks will be announced soon. Anyone interested in participating in a dig is encouraged to contact the museum at 406.654.5300 or send an email to [email protected].

I was very impressed by the fossil collections at Great Plains and hope further improve the experience of visiting the museum both for fellow scientists and for the general public."

Everyone is invited to join in a toast to welcome Harris at the GPDM Annual FunDRaiser and Wine & Dino on July 8th from 4-7 PM.
