Healthcare Foundation Donates to Hospital

The Healthcare Foundation and individuals supporting the hospital donated Therm-X Hot/Cold Compression System and a Light Force Therapy Laser to the Phillips County Hospital physical therapy department.

The equipment is designed to assist and aid in the healing of injuries and is used following surgeries. Clients of the PT office who have used the laser equipment said they found relief following the treatment. One of the two contacted regarding the machine said she was seeking relief from a hip injury which had developed scar tissue. It has aided in her mobility.

Another individual who has used the laser machine said she had numerous treatments for back pain and when the treatments were over she felt great.

To be able to have the equipment here locally to treat individuals is a plus in many ways. Travel is a concern and having the expertise of a physical therapist who can offer the state of the art technology is definitely beneficial.

PT for the use of the machines requires a referral from a provider. If one has questions, contact Maria Taylor at the PT department at the clinic/hospital.

These pieces of equipment are one way of staying on top of medical advancement. The equipment is readily available for sport injuries as well. The Foundation donation will be utilized by many of all ages.
