Ladies Who Ag Share Ideas

As part of their outreach program, the Montana Farmer's Union hosted a get-together for women involved in agriculture in any aspect. Mary Jenni was the host and shared with those in attendance the importance and the impact of women in the field.

Lunch was compliments of MFU and was enjoyed by all. The ladies ranged in age from six to sixty (and more) and each brought to the table of discussion their connection to the largest industry in Phillips County.

Gathered at the table the women shared ideas of topics they would like discussed at future meetings. The wide range of points of interest included grasshopper control to survival on the vast acres with few neighbors.

There was no need for prompting the conversation; the discussion shared the experiences of raising ten milk cows and how it has been a profitable business for two young ranch kids. Mary shared a new recipe she had for rhubarb ice cream, and this caught the attention of the women attending, as all of them are bakers.

The women came from Malta, Whitewater, and Turner...and their common bond is agriculture.

Samples of wool wax cream, a packet of dill seeds, ag stickers, tablets, and pens were compliments of MFU.

When another date for the Ladies Who Ag is selected, it will be posted in the PCN.
