One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, June 28, 2023

I saw a phenomenon that I haven’t seen before,,,a cloud of pollen from some crested wheatgrass that looked like some dust broiling up. It was amazing. Also, it might be the reason I have my itchy eyes and throat right now.

My flycatcher babies have left the nest and are on their own. The momma flycatcher is busy fixing up the nest and laying eggs for the next batch.

At senior meals on Wednesday three of the Olsen girls were there. Kerry Kingsley of Glasgow, Kristie, from Crosby, ND, and Carol from Louisiana. I think. They went to school in Whitewater in the early ’60s and wanted to see Margie Olsen and Ree Simonson along with some classmates. I certainly enjoyed my visit.

Cindy Clark took a road trip to Minnesota to visit classmates and family for two weeks. She had a wonderful time and no car troubles!

On Monday Rodney Stordahl and I traveled across the coulees to Turner for the Tim Cowan

memorial at Turner Park. The ceremony was very nice. Cheryl and her family and Cindy

Cowan traveled over from South Dakota, and Rusty and Tracy Cowan of Great Falls picked up Theresa Cowan in Havre. So many good Cederberg friends were on hand to share their memories of Tim!

Joanne Saffie stopped to see me at the GPDM on Friday. She is attending the class reunions of ‘73 & ‘74. Carol Lumsden also participated in the class reunion in Malta.

Saturday Lu Besel and I took a drive to Malta. We attended part of the Terri Cole 80th birthday party at the VFW with live music. It was fun to listen to the music.

I’m loving these longer days even though I don’t get any more tasks done. The wildflowers are plentiful and there are lots of varieties. Be watching the full moon rising on the 2 of July!

Have a safe fourth!
