Malta Kids Club Kicks-Off School Year with BBQ and Summer Showcase

Malta Kids Club will be ending Summer Club on August 17th, with a Back to School Barbeque and Summer Showcase, from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm. Families will enjoy a delicious meal, and have fun playing outdoor games. Malta Kids Club members will present their STEM machine creations and show off their beautiful works of art. There will be giveaways throughout the evening. A big thank you to our partners of this family event: Phillips County Coalition for Healthy Choices, Malta Kiwanis, Thrivent Financial, Eastern MT Community Mental Health Center, MHS ReACT, and Family Connections.

Malta Kids Club will open for the school year program on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 23rd. Program operations are Monday through Thursday afterschool until 5:30 pm during the school year. The Club is conveniently located within two blocks of the Malta Elementary School and one block of Malta Middle and High Schools, at 101 South 7th Street West. Membership is free. The Club serves all youth ages 5 to 18 who are enrolled in the Malta School District, including homeschooled students. We provide transportation from Malta Elementary to the Kids Club facility during the school year with our free shuttle.

Malta Kids Club afterschool program is funded through a Montana Office of Public Instruction 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant, under the non-profit status of the Phillips County Coalition for Healthy Choices. This November 2023, will mark the 18th year that the organization has been serving community youth as an after-school and summer learning program.

Malta Kids Club Afterschool/Summer Program has been designed to reach 21st Century Community Learning Center Performance Goals & Objectives and meet the needs of youth and families in Malta. We offer the following activities: Homework Help; STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Well-rounded Activities; Social Emotional Learning; College & Career readiness; Summer Learning; Field Trips; Culture & Arts; Service Learning; Drug and Violence Prevention; Character & Leadership Development; Physical Fitness & Healthy Lifestyles; as well as Family Events.

Partnerships are an important part of our program and include schools, youth, parents, businesses, media, youth-serving organizations, law enforcement agencies, faith-based organizations, health-care professionals, federal, state & local agencies, civic, volunteer groups & other organizations. Malta Kids Club is open Monday through Thursday after school until 5:30 pm during the school year. Students must be registered each year with the Club in order to attend the program.
