One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, August 16, 2023

Here in the Whitewater area, farmers and ranchers are swathing and baling hay. Soon they will prepare for harvest.

So much farming depends on the weather.

Most of the area and county attended the PC Fair in Dodson.

Congratulations to all who had 4-H animals and entries. Also, to those who had entries in open class.

This included Jeannie Green. She flew from Arizona to attend the PC Fair!

She entered bread, doughnuts, and others and she won!

My friend Irene Wendalyn and I went to the fair on Sunday. We looked at all the exhibits and ate hamburgers, potato salad, pie, etc.

There were so many food trucks, food trailers, more than I remember at past fairs.

There were not so many rides or games. I remember the play horses, merry-go-rounds. It was a lot of fun. Especially the music on the merry-go-round. Time changes.

In the 1950’s, the girls wore matching shirts. That was a statement of engagement or a serious couple! (Whatever)

Courtney and Jason Hellie returned home from Billings. Again, get well to her.

Whitewater Schools are starting up and Superintendent Cummings and teachers are preparing for class already.

Last I heard Whitewater is hiring a Special Ed Teacher and a Home Economics teacher. We heard Christ Taylor is the head cook and Connie Scheffalmear is also working.

It is hard to believe summer vacation is over.

Note: Free Piano lessons in Whitewater! Write to me Helen Austin.
