Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023

It is harvesting time. Farmers are combining grain from morning until night.

I see huge farm machinery go by daily. The machines are a lot bigger than they were in the 1950’s. Some are done combining, including Janice and Curt Reicholt. They finished and went to Denver, Colorado to visit family.

Most farmers say the crops are good this year, better than the last few years due to drought.

Note: If anyone is harvesting rhubarb, I will buy some!

Here in Whitewater school is in full swing. Some people are still traveling.

Patti Young went to visit her daughter and Lynette Ereaux went with her; both are from Big Sandy.

Here’s a recipe for Fruit Smoothies

1 cup of plain yogurt

½ cup of apple juice

1 tsp of honey

6 strawberries sliced.

You can add a banana or a handful of blueberries.

Mix altogether and pour into glasses, delicious!
