One Nation, Under God

American Legion "Juniors" Making A Difference

One step at a time, one project at a time, one message at a time. The American Legion Auxiliary "Juniors" are actively participating in and making both a stand and a statement on matters that not only affect Veterans, it affects others.

Though small in number (less than 10 as of now) the young ladies are aiding in getting messages to people. This weekend the project was directed toward suicide prevention awareness. Over 60 rocks bearing a variety of encouraging messages were created and will be placed around at various businesses who are interested in setting out the message.

These rocks are a new color, teal and lavender, and can be placed alongside of the ones that were completed over the last couple years.

In addition to the rocks, the youth have spent time since mid-August to prepare a refreshed collection of "blue tear drops" which have been colored and have pins available for wearing. These are also placed around the businesses.

Thank you for your support of the youth endeavors. Share your support, find a business with a teardrop, and if you need a rock... let them know. Messages can be left at the VFW at 406-654-2232 for the Juniors or call Kari Hould at 406-390-3552.

It's a great day to be an AMERICAN!
