One Nation, Under God

A New Rendition of On the Street In the Works

After countless suggestions, urging and flat out requests, this PCN Reporter will be reactivating an old tradition, formerly referred to as “On the Street.” This one will be more open to those encountered in my travels, so, it is not limited to Malta people “on the street.”

The format will be the same, individuals will be asked a question, their picture will be taken and this is where your participation is important. It will only continue with the cooperation of the public. You can rest assured, no one has ever died from answering a question. Give your honest opinion. All material submitted will be okayed by the Publisher, Pierre Bibbs.

With space already limited this week, those that were approached with the inquiry: Where were you and what do you remember about 9/11 of 2001, the terrorist attack on America that happened 22 years ago? The responses are here; however the pictures won’t be printed. Those who responded gave the following answers:

Jenny Tollefson: In college, we watched it on the news; I remember thinking our lives will never be the same again.

Dan Sisco: I was roofing a house east of Saco, it scared the hell out of us.

Kayla Young: Teachers tried to explain it; in the morning an upper classmate had a picture from the Gazette and that picture is still etched in my mind.

Tom Flatt: I was roofing a house for Clausen & Sons; we watched as the trade towers came down.

Thank you to those who kindly responded. There is not a student in any K-12 school across America that knows of the tragic day other than from history…just another reason to preserve history, it is our future as well.

Enjoy the week, autumn is setting in and wants to snuggle up. Set out each day and make a difference…you won’t regret it. Be the reason someone smiles!

I might even meet you in my travels…on the street.
