Sympathy and prayers to the family of Courtney Hellie of Whitewater who passed away recently. She left 6 boys. She will be missed by family and friends.

“Get Well” wishes to Howie Hammond of Whitewater. He is now at the Mayo Clinic.

Late Happy Birthday to Rory Green of Whitewater.

Congratulations to Somer Green who sang the national anthem at the recent volleyball game at the Whitewater School. You have a beautiful voice, Somer.

Sports are in full force. Whitewater High School hosted a game on Friday.

Congratulations to Ashley Green on winning a pizza in a contest. The contest she won the pizza in, was to name her favorite piano man? I think she chose Elton John (I voted for him too). How fun!

Dallas Green has been mowing hay on the Austin Flats. He reports there is more hay there than in years.

Whitewater has plenty of hay.

Last week Dixie Stordahl taught an art class about painting. It was fun. There were over 15 lady painters.

“Get Well Wishes” to Pastor Bob Nagy, who is having surgery.

It is harvesting time; many people have zucchini.

Here is a recipe for Zucchini Pie:

Make a double crust.

Peel and slice apple.

Peel and slice into thin strips of zucchini.

Arrange alternating the apple and zucchini into the pie crust.

Mix sugar, cinnamon, and dots of butter. Pour mixture over the apples and zucchini.

Bake and top with whipped cream or ice cream.

And enjoy!

Helen A.
