Sincere sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of Leroy Simonson. He was a lifelong rancher north of Whitewater and will be missed.

Again, Happy Birthday to all celebrating in November.

Congratulations to the Penguin/Mavericks “North Country” volleyball and cross-country participants and players.

Now basketball season begins in Whitewater and the Hi-Line.

Here in the Whitewater area, shipping cattle is almost complete. They are trucked to market now. When I grew up the cattle were shipped on the train. Yes, there was a little train in Whitewater in the 1940s and 1950s! We called it the “Galloping Goose”. The train ran from Glasgow, Hinsdale, Saco, Whitewater, Turner, and Hogeland, and then returned. The train hauled food and groceries to the little store, Brandts Store. It hauled the US Mail, too. Times change.

Well, here in Whitewater the snow has melted, and the wind is blowing, but it is not too cold.

Happy Thanksgiving!
