Council On Aging

Dear Sir:

The Phillips County Council on Aging has a goal of assisting and promoting programs to help senior citizens in Phillips County. Through our programs we have become aware of many local seniors who could benefit by staying in our local community but have a difficult time living on their own.

Recently the former nursing home was purchased and remodeled to provide 24 hour care in an assisted living facility. It has just received its Medicaid license. This allows the Rivers Bend Assisted Living facility to accept Medicaid payments for residents. This would allow many seniors to stay in the community under safe 24 hours per day supervision. Right now Phillips County has residents that need more care and close monitoring with family far away. Even though the nursing home is gone it is still

possible to help many of our seniors. Let's encourage local residents to use the facility. If you have any questions about eligibility or what the facility offers please call Rivers Bend Assisted Living at 654-2106.

The Council wants to support our local people. Let's take advantage of the services we have to offer here in Malta.
