Saco Students Impress at BPA Regional

The Saco Chapter of Business Professionals of America attended the 2024 Regional conference in Lambert, MT on January 11th. The kids surely didn't come home empty handed. Emerson Downing was awarded 1st place in Graphic Design

Josie Brown, Jessa Erickson, and Emerson Downing competed on a Visual Design Team together and took away the 1st place trophy. The freshmen class competed against each other in the Fundamental Word Processing event, and Laytin Erickson took 10th, Jake Brown 5th, and Emerson Downing received the bragging rights with getting 4th. Health Administrative Procedures was a fun event for members interested in the health field, Jessa Erickson took 4th and Emerson Downing came home with a 2nd place certificate. Another freshmen class competitive event is Fundamental Spreadsheets. Jake received 7th, 6th Emerson, and 5th Laytin. Josie Brown took 4th in Business Law & Ethics. The boys, Jake, Laytin, and Blaine Downing walked away 3rd in the Broadcast News Team Event. Lastly are the open testing events. These events are open to all contestants the day of the competition, and many students take advantage of these tests! Two Saco BPA members walked away with awards in their respective open events: Health Admin Concepts - Josie Brown 4th place and Digital Communication and Design - Emerson Downing 10th.

All members earned their ticket to the state conference in Billings March 10-12. The mission of BPA is to develop and empower student leaders to discover their passion and change the world by creating unmatched opportunities in learning, professional growth, and service. The Saco BPA Chapter has excelled in this program throughout the years, and we look to watching this continue for years to come. Go Panthers!
