PC Healthcare Foundation Donates Funds for PCH Equipment Purchase

Phillips County Hospital and Family Health Clinic has been working to acquire updated equipment for patient care use.

In December of 2023 representatives from the Spacelab healthcare company were on-site at PCH to demo a few pieces of their equipment including new vital sign monitors. Our nursing staff and providers were invited to come in and test the equipment. Their equipment was impressive and included the most up-to-date technology.

These new machines would replace our older machines that are almost 15 years old. It would also replace the need for multiple devices to take a set of vitals as all of the vital components are included on each unit. These machines are also capable of inputting the patient vitals that are taken, right into the patient chart which will be beneficial for compliance and efficiency.

A request was submitted to the Healthcare Foundation in January 2024 to help purchase the new machines. The Healthcare foundation reviewed the submission and voted to grant the funds for our request. Not only did the Healthcare Foundation vote to approve the request, they decided that they would provide the funds for the full capital purchase!

Phillips County Hospital is very thankful for the Healthcare Foundation's donation to purchase this new equipment that will benefit our community members.

The new vital sign equipment was purchased and has been put together. The implementation of the new machines will be completed once the interface to the electronic health record has been finished.

The Phillips County Hospital team appreciates the Healthcare Foundation for making this purchase possible and to the community for supporting the Healthcare Foundation so they are able to continue to be a resource for our community's healthcare needs.

As per Janice Reichelt, the Phillips County Health Care Foundation officers are Craig French, President, Nellie Ereaux, Vice President, Janice Reichelt, Secretary, and Becky Green, Treasurer. Jenny Oxarart is in charge of communications, and Sue Olsen facilitates the Foundation raffles. Also working on the board are volunteers JoAnn Hammond and Kayla VanWichen.

The cost of the equipment was $150,000.
