One Nation, Under God

Jam Session Brings Back Familiar Faces

With doors wide open, the music from the monthly jam session at the VFW Post 4067 filled the spring air adding toe-tapping songs with passer-bys. With the crowd that attended, bartender Jamie Ulrich was kept busy hopping to and fro, tending to the refreshment requests. Five birthdays were celebrated as well throughout the afternoon. A special lunch was provided by Erna Schlieve in celebration of her sister Joy's special day. She and a crew prepared and served gourmet delights, Philippine flavored, including her famous egg rolls. Erna also served a birthday cake baked by Brianna Brooks.

Fifteen musicians showed up and volunteered their time to entertain the crowd, starting as early as 12:30 p.m. and playing til nearly 6:30 p.m. They included Roy and Sheldon Neumiller (Roundup), Lynn Heggan (Havre), Bill, Warren and Riley Abrahamson, Adrian Tremblay, Sr., and Junior, Ryder Raymond, Gordon Faaborg, Jay Southwick, Dr. Edwin Medina, Vince Mace, and Warren Taylor.

Special music was provided by Dean Kienenberger of Dodson, still enjoying "The Cattle Call" at 87 years young. Vince Mace and his grandmother, Carol Doney, sang several songs together; "grandma Carol" is 79 years young and still loving a good country-western song. The next jam session is June 2.
