May 29:

I was so thrilled to be in Loring this last week! Many birds are flying through. Even a Swainson’s thrush which we don’t get every year. Lots of American goldfinches, robins, red-wing blackbirds and yellow-headed blackbirds, Canada geese and ducks galore. My little flycatcher is successful at laying her eggs in the nest on the deck roof!

Steven Johannesen had an unfortunate accident and got burned over quite a lot of his body.

He is in Salt Lake City at the burn unit, to get skin to regrow. I’m sure he’s in pain but it’s a good place for him to get fixed up. His mom, Twilla, flew down with him, and we are praying for healing.

Congrats to the Whitewater track team on their showing at the state track meet! I heard they had three state championships and placed in numerous other events! Way to be a Penguin!

The Whitewater Gala on Tuesday was marvelous! It was a semester project the middle school and high school students brainstormed, a worthy project to help the community and improve communication skills, too.

Rod took me over to Turner to visit the cemetery and leave our wildflowers on the family graves. The wind was blowing about 50 mph! The cemetery looked awesome!

A surprise visit with Lisa Dyrdahl on Thursday. She lives in Glasgow now. She thought the hills were pretty with all the green grass! I’m not sure how much rain Loring has received since the snow left. Actually, the prairie is green all the way to Billings!

Have a great week!
