One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News for the Week of October 8, 2014

For a small community, we have had lots of action lately.

Our sympathy goes to the following: Jay Brown’s cow was hit and killed by an ice cream truck. The calf was alive by her side yet. The truck driver was not really injured and that’s good. But it is all too bad.

Carli Olson’s dog was killed by someone who broke in and ransacked the house.

You both have our sympathy.

Get well wishes to the Clarks of Loring, and others also.

Judy Okatt from Oregon (an old school mate of mine) was here visiting Debbie Anderson and family, and new baby.

Anne, Edd Anderson’s mom, has been here visiting the Anderson families.

Congratulations again to volleyball players Laramey Scheffelmer, Courtney Simonson, the Howard twins and any that I missed.

Ree Simonson has a guest, her brother in law (Roger Simonson’s brother.) I think he is from North Dakota.

Denise Cox was at North 40 and said she is working part-time for the Olsen’s doing bookkeeping. Good job!

Last week we, Sally Austin and myself, took the bus to the Game Refuge across the Missouri River to an area called Slippery Anne to see the elk and hear them bugle. They are really beautiful and they really like to bugle. It was awesome. The PC Transit gave rides for free and we got free sandwiches, courtesy of West Side. Thanks to everyone.

We have a Monday evening Bible Study, led by Lynn Hill, which meets at the Lutheran Church. Everyone is welcome.

Jay Brown is getting a new roof put on by Trais (his nephew) and Dorine (formely Browns) son. Hope the rain we had did not stop him from working too long.

Linda, Sally and I went to lunch and the Matinee show at the Villa Theatre in Malta on Sunday. If you go to the movie “If I stay,” you better bring a Kleenex because it is sad. But I love movies.

Visitors of Steve and Patty are Steve’s sister, Nancy Young of Great Falls, and Larry Blackburn of Florida. They are traveling to Florida for the winter. They are lucky snowbirds.

Last week I visted the Siewings in Malta. They are Paul, Leona, Seth and Johnathan. They are honorary niece, nephews and/or grandsons. The boys are twins but they have different birthdays as one was born before midnight and the other was born in the morning. That is one for “Ripley’s, Believe it or not.”
