Coyotes lose with respect

The Dodson Coyotes remain winless after losing to the Frazer Bearcubs, Lustre Christian Lions and Malta’s JV team last week.

In their 76-29 loss to Frazer last Friday night, the young Coyotes were led by Dane Strike, who had 10 points.

David Jaynes and Lane Walling added six points a piece.

Gavin Fox had five points and Tyrese Messerly had two.

“They tried to run with them at first and found out they couldn’t run with them,” Coach Wes KillEagle said. “We’re a young team but they didn’t get frustrated or get down on themselves.”

In their 57-14 loss to the Lustre Christian Lions, Cain Wing an eighth grader scored nine points for Dodson.

Fox added three points and Jasper Doney added two points.

The team had a rough outing and many calls that were arguably fouls against Lustre just weren’t called, the team surprised Coach KillEagle with great attitudes.

“They showed their maturity by not getting frustrated or mad at the referees. They just kept playing hard,” Coach KillEagle said proudly.

The team has been working on defense and being patient with the ball on offense during practices this week.

The Coyotes will see the Saco-Whitewater Panthers tomorrow night in Whitewater. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.

They will then travel to Scobey to take on the Spartans this Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
